BRIAN LITTLE is urging his Wrexham side to remain focussed after their impressive start to the season at The Racecourse.
Wrexham go into tonight's Blue Square Premier match against Burton Albion at The Racecourse (7.45pm) boasting a 100 per cent home record after victories against much fancied Stevenage Borough (5-0) and Oxford United (2-0).

And despite two excellent results and performances, Little said Wrexham cannot take anything for granted.

"There is no divine right because we have had two great results and good performances," said Little today. "We have to turn up and do things how we have done previously.

"If we maintain that standard, it gives us another chance.

"If we win but don't play well at least we can gain some confidence.
"If we play well, we will give most people a game and we will try and do that.

"But we have got to stay focussed and can't underestimate anybody, especially Burton who score lots of goals. We can't get carried away.

We need to kick on again, and keep kicking on.

"It would be foolish to think we know it all. We've learnt a lot but there is more to learn."

But Little, who saw his Wrexham side win their first away match of the campaign at Salisbury on Saturday, says spirits are high at The Racecourse, adding: "We have done well but in our minds think we could have got a point or two more.

"We could have won at Rushden and Altrincham.

"That is healthy rather than be happy where we are."

Wrexham, up to fifth in the table, face a Burton outfit who are one place below the Reds in the table and separated by goal difference.

Only Burton, 5-2 winners over Lewes at the weekend, have scored more goals than Wrexham in the division and Little could not disguise his admiration for how far tonight's opponents have progressed in the last ten years.

"Burton are a decent side and a super club," said Little. "They know the league well now and what they have done over the last decade is incredible.

"Nigel Clough has played at the highest level and demands great respect for what he has done. He and the directors have brought the club on so credit to them.

"It is a great set-up and shows how ready they are to try and make that final step up to the Football League.

"The team is organised and it will be a good game."

Little, still without Kyle Critchell whose ankle ligament injury sustained in training last week is expected to rule him out for four to six weeks, is not expected to make many changes tonight.

The Reds boss switched Shaun Whalley to the left wing against Salisbury and the former Accrington Stanley man responded with two goals to take his tally for the season to four, one behind leading scorer Jefferson Louis who also grabbed a brace at the weekend.

And Little believes Whalley is a natural winger: "We felt Shaun's best position was out wide," he added. "He likes to run with the ball and it gives him a new lease of life.

"But it is not to say he will stay there because he also likes it up front."

Nat Brown, whose return to the side lasted just eight minutes at Salisbury due to a recurrence of a groin injury, is out but Neil Taylor (tonsillitis) is available again and Steve Evans has been cleared to play before he joins up with the Wales squad for the opening two World Cup qualifiers

But Evans will not be available to face Cambridge United on Saturday.
