CARL MACAULEY believes he now has a squad of players who can retain their place in the division.
The Vauxhall Motors boss saw his side battle their way to a 1-1 home draw against Stafford Rangers on Tuesday night, and feels confident that Motors can give a good account of themselves at home to Redditch United tomorrow (3pm kick-off).

He said
: "We came out with all guns blazing against Stafford and deserved a point.

"I was really pleased with our debutant, Karl Noon, and with the performance of Anthony Wright who scored our equaliser in midweek.

"I now have a squad of players who I think can keep us in this division, but I know that we'll be fighting to finish in a mid-table position."

Noon, a former Liverpool academy striker, signed from Welsh Premier club Bangor City.

He started his career with Chester City at reserve and U-18 levels and stayed at the Deva Stadium for two years before signing for Liverpool's youth side.

The 21-year old was a part of the team that won the Liverpool Senior Cup in 2004.

The striker went on to play for Prescot Cables, Bamber Bridge and Marine, before being signed by Southport at the recommendation of former City and Sandgrounders manager, Peter Davenport.

He made three starts and 11 substitute appearances last year for Bangor, scoring two goals in the process.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Lloyd Rigby, has signed on loan for Stockport County and was named on the bench for the club's 1-0 Carling Cup defeat at Leicester in midweek defeat and for the 1-1 draw at Huddersfield Town in League One last weekend.
