CHESTER SUNDAY LEAGUE - THE new season started well for Lache Park in a cracker of a game against Blacon Social.
The home side found themselves 2-0 down at the break but hauled themselves back to shade a 3-2 victory.

Andy Callaghan, Scott Chesworth and a clincher from Leon Whitley late in the game earned Lache Park the points.

Elsewhere in Section A, Vicars Cross lost by the odd goal in seven against visitors Tarvin Rex, Shaun Paige and Shaun Roberts the Vicars Cross scorers.

Promoted Saltney Ferry raced into a shock lead against defending champions Dee Miller, Dave Carmen and Lee Jones doing the damage, but a second half turn around saw the Miller men take the points in a 5-2 success.

Section B saw four home wins out of four.

A fine hat-trick from Carl Fowlie and a Luke Griffiths effort were just enough for the Gardeners Arms to snatch a 4-3 win against Frodsham.

At Wealstone Lane, visitors Bromfield went down 3-1 to Upton Youth Club, whilst Custom House bagged three goals at Imperials but lost, as doubles from Adam Langford and Chris Larson, and a knock-in from Neil Fouldes, gave the Highfield a hard earned 5-3 win.

Bank of America also took the points against Waverton, winning by the odd goal in five.

In Section C, Western Rangers ran up the day's highest score, thumping new boys The Carlton 9-0. Elsewhere, The Red Lion and The Anchor shared the points in a 1-1 draw and a brace of goals from Sam Henry helped St Theresas draw 3-3 at Tattenhall.

At County Officers Sports Club, Inter Barrow controlled the game against Grosvenor Celtic and striker Kieran Tudor bagged a treble in a 6-0 stroll.

John Clarke (2) and David Burton the other scorers, while the Greyhound defeated Ring O'Bells 4-2.
