CHESTER BOUGHTON HALL thirds entertained local rivals Neston and won by four wickets.
Neston's opening bowler Mike Henderson made the breakthrough with 1-37 in his spell. Neston then took their score past the 100 mark, and Chester were guilty of several missed catches.

The combination of youngsters Ollie Thompson and Dave McClement
s began to turn the game round. Thompson took 3-69 in a 19 over spell, and McClements took 5-39 in his eight overs. Dave Fisher and Mark Slater picked up two catches each as Neston declared on 226-9.

In reply, Chester's Dave Wright scored 47 in only 28 balls. Max Temple then powered his way to 96 off 79 balls. He was supported by Marcus Lyon (29) , and it was left to Phil Thomas (20 not out) and Fisher to guide Chester to the winning post with 11 overs to spare.

Chester seconds lost their match against Nantwich after being skittled all out for 111.

Jack Williams took four wickets and Jamie Ducker took three wickets after Nantwich had set a target of 154 for 7.

Chester fourths went down by 133 runs at Irby.

Irby batted first and made 219-6 with Nick Long (2-26), Mike Sawry (2-30) and Katie Copack (1-39).

Chester's reply of 86 all out included 34 from Mike Perkins, 18 from Mal Joyce and 11 from Charlie Wild.

CHRISTLETON seconds fielded five 15-year-olds in their defeat at third-placed Grappenhall.

A useful opening partnership saw Mike Hollindale (45) and Rob Morrey (46) forge an unbroken stand of more than 100 for the first wicket.

A series of run outs and poor shot selections ruined the good start the opening pair had created and eventually Christleton were all out for 140.

Grappenhall lost five wickets in pursuit of their target, the first wicket falling to junior debutant Adam Gittins, and the other four to another junior, Matt Astbury.
