CHESTER BOUGHTON HALL seconds skippered by Andy Robinson scored a comfortable five wicket victory at Toft.
The home side won the toss and elected to bat but were soon in trouble against some steady Chester bowling.

Dan Riley took 3-18 while Mike Robinson took 2-13. Sam Mallows continued his early season good form with 2-31.

The Chester batsmen never
looked in too much trouble as they picked off the runs. Bob Evans continued to impress and there were runs for Byrom Ward (16), Andy Forrest (14) and Mike Robinson (11no).

Chester thirds found the going tough against local rivals Upton and despite some decent bowling, went down by three wickets.

Chester won the toss and opted to bat and their under-par total of 106 saw runs from Tom Evans (28) and Mark Slater (20).

Youngsters Joe Killoran and Jack Mackenzie led the way with the bowling taking 3-28 and 2-26 respectively.

Boughton Hall fourths, captained by Paul Ducker, included no less than five under 13s in their starting line-up in a 102 runs defeat against Irby and, while this was on paper a heavy defeat, the team acquitted itself pretty well and fell just three overs short of managing a draw.

Star of the show was young Harry Killoran whose splendid second bowling spell saw him take 5-8 runs in five overs. Harry finished with 5-45 from his nine overs. A mention too goes to young Cameron Clark who took a fine catch in the field.

Chester's batting stuttered from the off with the seniors scoring the bulk of the runs – Ducker 15 and Adrian Anderson 17.

It was Anderson and young Killoran in at the death but their gallant efforts ended in the 42nd over with a total of 76 all out.

Christleton seconds lost their match at Irby seconds who made 149 despite Stuart Clark taking five wickets and Craig Bevan four wickets.

Christleton teenager Josh Morgan-Jones (16) top scored as his team were skittled for 80.

Tattenhall managed only a draw in their Cheshire County League match against Marple.

Tattenhall's Damian Lewis could not quite find his length with the new ball, his two wickets coming from quick yorkers; and Gary Forster bowled well, but lacked penetration on a slow wicket.

Marple's two main men, their skipper (85) and Gary Cash (50) got set and played big shots effectively. Mel Dobson took 3-53, and Rob Mulvihill (5-36), as the home side reduced the visitors from 140-2 to 171 all out.

Debutant Rhys Jowett steadied the ship alongside Barry Mitchell (74no) before Lewis (27) fell.

Tattenhall made sure of a draw, scoring 157-9.

Matt Williams starred for Tattenhall seconds who drew their match against Marple.

Ben Wood and Stuart Sadler – both just 14 years old – made their debuts and chased 200 for victory with veteran Bob Knight taking the other two Marple wickets, but Tattenhall had to settle for a draw, finishing on
161-9.
