CHESHIRE COUNTY LEAGUE - RICK MOORE will pick up the captaincy from Paul Allen for Christleton tomorrow.
Allen will focus his mind on an England Deaf Ashes Series against Australia, while Moore will eye another pleasing team performance at Poynton in Division One.
Allen said: "I'm hoping Rick can continue our good form because I feel we've played well as a team during the last three weeks.
"Iroshan de Silva hasn't scored many runs in our last few games, he seems to be going through a little patch of not being able to score big, but other players have stepped up and chipped in with the runs.
"Our batting and bowling is good and our fielding has been improving and that has been a pleasing aspect."
Allen is one of four players who are unavailable, with Matt Parkinson, Nick O'Connell, and Simon Ratcliffe all out of action.
Batsmen Simon Jones and Russell Crowley return alongside Jason Ashcroft who replaces Allen who underlined the importance of tomorrow's match.
He said: "Poynton have won their last two games and one of their batsmen has just racked up back-to-back centuries.
"But they have a very similar record to ourselves, having drawn one and won two of their last three games.
"We have now clawed our way to within 15 points of the top and if we can perform well against Poynton I feel we'll put ourselves in a very good position."
CHESTER BOUGHTON HALL have suffered a blow ahead of their home Premier Division match against Urmston.
Club captain Steve Ogilby has had to call-up Dave Atkin after hearing that opening batsman Warren Goodwin had broken a finger in the warm-up of a midweek match against Nottinghamshire seconds.
Ogilby said: "Warren has broken a finger which is a big blow to my team selection, but it's just one of those things that can happen in cricket. I just hope Warren can recover quickly from the injury and we wish him well.
"His place tomorrow will be taken by Dave Atkin, and Nick Massey comes in for Tom Ducker who will play for our seconds."
Ogilby, who is targeting another victory on the back of their win against high-flying Oulton Park last weekend, said: "We had a cracking win against a strong Oulton Park side and there was a cracking mood after the match in our changing room.
"The result showed what we are really capable of achieving and now I'll be looking for a lot more consistency.
"I still don't think we're batting as well as we can and it's been disappointing to see us fail to fire on all cylinders.
"Some guys in the top five of our batting order are capable of scoring plenty of runs and I'm now looking for them to score 50-plus.
"The win against Oulton Park has put us a few points behind third place, and another win could see us within touching distance of the top at the halfway stage of the season.
"I feel we've had an okay season without being brilliant and we're still in a position to contend, but we must be ready to move on to a
higher level."
