The West Cheshire AC long jumper produced a leap of 5.16m to clinch success for Cheshire Tigers at Wavertree, Liverpool, in the third round of the National Under 20 Junior Track and Field League.

Sian is one of six West Cheshire AC members who have been selected to compete at Gateshead in the English Schools' Championships scheduled for July 11 and 12.

Samantha Galley, Alice Jennings, Alice McMahon, and Chris Goodwin will join Sian in the Cheshire team, while Bryony Potter will represent Merseyside.

Sian was joined in the long jump event at Wavertree by Emily Clarke who secured top spot in the B competition with a leap of 4.81m, and then won the B triple jump with 9.33m.

Rebecca Grimes rounded the 400m hurdles in a winning time of 75.4 seconds, and launched the javelin to a winning mark of 22.22m.

Samantha Galley posted 13.0 seconds for second spot in the 100m, and was also second in the 200m with 27.2 seconds.

Rachel Stoakley secured top spot in the B 100m with a time of 13.3 seconds, and Kate Titlow grabbed a convincing victory in the 3,000m.

Olivia Beaney rounded the 1500m in a time of 2:51.7, and Emily Done competed in the 200m and B javelin.

The quartet of Clarke, Stoakley, Galley, and Grimes posted 52.5 seconds for second spot in the 4x100m relay.

Aamir Walwyn, Alan Littler, and Rob Hamilton lined up for the men's squad.

Aamir triple jumped 12.60m for second spot, clocked 24.8 seconds for fifth spot in his 200m and finished third in the 400m (53.2), while Alan cleared 1-55m for joint first place in the high jump, posted 61.1 seconds for third spot in the B 400m, hit 13.83m for third place in the hammer, and spun the discus to a distance of 15.12m.

Debutant Rob Hamilton launched the javelin 29.80m for third position.

Bob Benson has achieved a silver medal category performance after completing the Three Peaks Challenge.

The West Cheshire AC member completed 19.6 mile course, climbing the 11,300ft to the peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon, in 9 hours 34 minutes, plus 11 hours driving time to complete the course in 20 hours 34 minutes in memory of his son, Mike.

Bob finished inside the sub-22 hours silver medal time, and just 34 minutes away from attaining a gold medal.

Sponsorship from Bob's efforts will be forwarded to The Fire Fighters Charity and Wales Air Ambulance.

* Fixtures this weekend include the Cheshire Track Relay Championships, on Saturday, at Macclesfield.

Sunday sees West Cheshire AC travel to Carlisle to compete in their North of England Track and Field League Division Two West match.

The Chester and District Schools' Track and Field Championships are scheduled to take place on Tuesday (July 8), at Queensway Stadium, Wrexham.

West Cheshire AC are hosting the second round of the Cheshire Track and Field League, on Sunday, July 13, at Cheshire Oaks High School, Ellesmere Port, (1pm start).
