ANGLING: Steve weighs in as Martin falls in!

Steve Openshaw celebrated a win at the lake of Tranquillity where he netted his way to the weight of the week, returning 87lb 8oz, writes MARTIN POWELL.
Martin Churchill was second placed on the day with 66lb 10oz, however, provided the laugh of the match by falling in! Kevin Williams netted his way to third place with a level 54lb of carp.
Thursday saw Dave Evans slip the net under a winning 63lb. Phil Kirby was second with 23lb 4oz, leaving John Porter third with a level 20lb.
Fishery owner, Chris Openshaw netted his way to a win with 24lb 7oz.
Ben Toplass was second with 21lb 3oz with Tony Morran closing out the frame with 20lb 5oz.
The Offa's Dyke match was won by Ray Haynes who brought 6lb 15oz of crucians and roach to the scales Nigel Davies was second placed and the only other weigher with 4lb 6oz.
The Tuesday Rovers saw Les Picken won the day off Hamptons Long Island with 86lb 8oz taken to the pellet. Phil Hardman was second with a level 79lb, with Kevin Williams in third with 66lb 6oz.
The Rake and Pikel fished out their latest match on Weston Pools where John Tyreman won the match with a barbel net for 19lb 12oz.
Dave Stewart netted his way to second with 17lb 12oz and Jimmy Page closed out the frame with 6lb 12oz.
Mickle Trafford Fly Fishers travelled to Chirk fwhere Steve Antrobus and Kevin Quayle shared the win with a brace for 3lb 15oz Phil Philby took a smaller brace, for third returning 3lb 10oz.
Geoff Dentith won the day at the Upton match on Pool Lodge with 85lb 10oz. Kevin Valentine was second with 75lb 8oz, leaving Julian Tatton and Mike Lewis to share third place with their 70lb 8oz return.
Mike Ellis and Paul Saville shared the win at Flint both returning a bream and roach net for 14lb 8oz. Kev Carr was third with 13lb 8oz.
Greyhound Wrexham fished on an out of sorts Heronbrook where Neil Jones took the coin with 14lb 12oz of small carp. Peter read was second with 10lb 9oz and John Murdoch third on 6lb 4oz.
The Saturday Open at Hampton Springs was won by Barry Gabriel who took a carp based 88lb 2oz. Carl Mc Cormick was second with a similar net for 59lb 14oz leaving Wrexham's Martin Churchill in third place with 55lb 2oz.
The Sunday Evening match was fished out on Rock and Meadow where Clive Johns won the match with 47lb 2oz. Dave Wilcox was second with 41lb 9oz, leaving John Cheetham in third place with 41lb 4oz.
Airbus fished a Dad's and Lad's match on Lloyds Meadow, bottom pool.
Jason Rodgers won for the dads with a 41lb 8oz carp net. John Sinkinson took the coin for second with 21lb 12oz; leaving Mal Dawes in third place with 19lb 4oz. Liam Parry was top lad on the day with 12lb 8oz.
with Matthew Davies in second place with a level 4lb.
Dave Tarran won the latest of the Connah's Quay events fished out on Lingmere with a carp and barbel return for 61lb 2oz. Phil Hardman was second with 48lb 6oz and Frankie Dorran closed out the frame, in third place with a level 46lb.
Moss Valley fished on the Moss where they were fishing the annual pair's championship. Kev Williams and Kev Self took the win 27lb 8oz,
Martin Churchill and Kev "Bling" Morris were second on the score card
with 24lb 15oz and third place was paid out to Gareth Williams and Steven Vine with 23lb 2oz.
WATER REPORTS
Llyn Brenig: W Durman from The Wirral had a good day and went home with six fish for 12lb 8oz.
Bryan Guest from Flint caught the biggest fish of the week weighing in at 6lb 4oz. He caught it on a hopper.
Tree Tops: Peter Roberts, Wrexham, 5 lbs, twin islands pool, green montana; Eric Croft, Bromborough, 5 lbs 15 ozs, loch pool, green & black fritz; Rob Jones, Ruabon, 6 lbs 11 ozs, twin islands pool, black buzzer.
Graig Llwyd: Neil Williams of Pentre Halkyn landed a 16.75 rainbow on a damsel while Peter Davies of Wrexham took a 12.5lber on a black fritz.
