ANGLING - Gary tops the scales at Hampton Springs

The Tuesday Rovers fished out on Hampton Springs, Long Island where Gary Vincent tipped the scales with a match winning return of 59lb 8oz, writes MARTIN POWELL.
Les Picken took a similar net for second with 51lb 8oz, leaving Shaun Sandham third with 42lb 8oz.
Ray Haynes won the day at the Wednesday match at Offa's Dyke. Ray connected with crucians and roach to bring a match winning 16lb 8oz to the scales. Tony Belcher was second with a mixed bag for 9lb 8oz, with Ray Williams in third place with 6lb 8oz.
Ben Toplass led the way at the Tuesday Lake of Tranquillity match with a 40lb return of carp taken to pellet and corn.
Les Picken was second with 20lb 8oz, with Mark Boulton in third with 17lb 10oz.
Thursday saw Andy Amos netting their weight of the week to win the match with 70lb 8oz. Mick Wylde was second with 26lb 10oz, with Ian Jones third with 24lb 8oz
The Sunday match was won by Mark Greasley, who returned a 46lb 3oz net.
Terry Windsor netted his way to second place with 45lb 15oz, with Ben Toplass in third place with 18lb 7oz.
Mark Pleavin won the Tuesday Open at Weston Pools. Fishing off peg 16 on the Wilfred Owen, Mark easily won with 87lb 5oz. Neil Jones was second with 72lb 1oz and John Dixon third with 58lb 12oz.
Thursday saw Fishery owner, Mike Philbin win the day with the weight of the week at 105lb 10oz. Ray Bates slipped the net under 57lb 3oz of carp for second place, with Mark Pleavin in third with 53lb 9oz.
Sunday saw Jamie Hughes took the coin with a carp based 97lb 6oz. Clive Wynne was second with 50lb 14oz, with Alan Dewhurst in third place with 45lb 14oz.
Brian Hoer won the day at the Corus match with bream and carp to return 14lb 13oz. Gareth Thomas was second with 7lb 5oz, leaving Derek Hewitt third place with 4oz.
The Quay were in action on Wepre Park where Dave Wheal took the money with a shallow caught skimmer net for 24lb 6oz. Andy Amos opted for the same tactics and was second with 19lb 2oz, Haydn Mesham third with 17lb 4oz.
I managed my first win of the season at Buckley on Sunday, fishing off the wooden jetty in the shallows.
The winning bag was 13lb 4oz. Chris Ellis fished off the next peg and was second with 13lb 2oz, with Graham Davidson in third with 13lb.
Rhostyllen travelled to Hickory Hollow for their latest match that was won by Ray Haynes with 10lb 2oz of crucians taken to maggot. Dave Sears was second with a similar net for 7lb 1oz, with Mike Groom in third place with 5lb 9oz.
Grosvenor Wrexham fished out their latest match on Milton Green's match pool where Steve Barwise won the day with carp to 2lb to return 51lb 10oz. Dave Evans again took a carp based net for 46lb 4oz, leaving Peter third with 42lb 8oz.
Saint Teresa's travelled to Partridge Lakes at Warrington for their latest outing which was won by Alan Griffiths with a small carp based net for a level 17lb. John Rowlands was second with 13lb 10oz, with Dave Meaney in third with 11lb 10oz.
Chester Telecom opted for the match lake at Tarvin Sands where Dave Smith took the money with 31lb 14oz of carp. Steve Bampton was with a level 28lb, with Andy Hunter third with 26lb 8oz.
The Tarvin Sands Open was also fished out on Todd's the match lake where Chris Barren was the winner on the day with 71lb 8oz of barbel and carp.
Steve Bowman was returned second with 43lb 7oz, leaving Barry Gabriel in third place with 40lb 13oz.
Dave Ellis of Ewloe landed a 12.5lb rainbow at Graig Llwyd while Rob Williams of Wrexham netted a 12lber.
D Hopper, from Mold, landed 4lb and 2.5lb fish using a buzzer at Wal Goch.
