MORE than 1,200 animal lovers attended a fundraising dog show in aid of a Flintshire's Capricorn Animal Rescue centre.
About 200 dogs took part in competitions organised by the Capricorn Animal Rescue in Wepre Park, Connah's Quay, Flintshire.

Categories included fancy dress, retrieve the sausage and "musical mats" – a dog version of musical chairs.

Sheila Stewart, from Capricorn Animal Rescue, said: "It was fantastic and so much fun.

"Every winner in the classes got a bag of dog food, a trophy or a rosette and we raised nearly £1,400.

"It was a way of raising money but also about raising awareness of people's responsibilities when they have animals, as well as finding out how much fun having a dog can be."

Mrs Steward thanked everybody who supported the event, including the volunteers on the day and the judges.
