Flintshire Hawks managed to dent Wrexham's unblemished 100 per cent record in this seasons competition by fighting out two draws.

Against the Robins they recorded a 0-0 tie in a competitve and fiercely contested match whilst a strike a piece from Hawks Josh Robertson and Dragons Ross Bignall meant the second game ended 1-1.

It was a different story for Flintshire Eagles who lost 4-2 to Wrexham Dragons.

The Dragons raced into a two goal lead courtesy of strikes from Danny Jones and Toby Grindley.

The deficit was reduced on the stroke of half-time as Dylan Jones gave the Eagles renewed hope.

Within seconds of the restart Wrexham had restored their two goal cushion through Ross Bignall. Flintshire continued to press with Ross Lavender causing the Wrexham defence numerous problems.

The Dragons killed the game off with a fourth through Danny Cross before Dylan Jones gave the scoreline a more respectable look.

In the second match-up Wrexham Robins saw off the Eagles challenge, recording an impressive 4-0 victory.

Ben Richards netted a double with Jordan Davies and Rhys Lloyd putting the game beyond doubt.

Francisco Rowlands posed a constant threat for the Robins with excellent wing play.

Sam Ellis was player of the tournament for the Hawks with Ross Lavender collecting the Eagles award.

Wrexham have completed all of their fixtures and have finished top of the league whilst Flintshire travel to Bangor on March 22 assured of second place.

Both teams will travel down to Aberdare to take part in the Tom Yeoman Shield Finals on April12 with Wrexham confident of hanging onto the Shield.

Wales opened the scoring early in the first half when Marc Evans (Coleg Menai) latched on to a fine pass from Dafydd Jones (Whitchurch High School, Cardiff) and his first time shot beat the advancing Irish keeper.

The second half started in the same fashion that the opening period ended with Ireland searching for a deserved equaliser and it came from a corner when some slack marking by the Welsh gifted the goal.

Both teams went in search of the winner and it was Ireland who scored in the dying minutes.

Stefan Edwards (Ysgol Rhiwabon) and Michael Cronshaw (Connah's Quay High school) impressed for Wales while substitute Aaron Aby (Yale
College) also featured.
