WORKERS at Chester's Focus DIY store are at risk of redundancy after the company announced it was reducing its overheads.
The company has said 750 jobs are at risk nationally and that its distribution centre in Severnside, Bristol, will be closed.

Job losses at individual stores have not yet been announced and a spokesman for Focus declined to comment on any possible cutbacks at the Chester store on Tarvin Road, Boughton.

Spokesman Jill Gater said: "Each store is individual and job losses will be dependant on their staffing levels.

"Some stores will be more affected than others but we can't say what will happen in each store. The national press release is the only one we're releasing."

The statement said the company needed to reduce its overheads to remain competitive and ensure the future of the business and as a result, 750 employees are at risk across its support centres, stores and distribution centres.

Focus DIY has 180 stores across the country.
