THE FA Cup will be the star attraction at the Blacon Festival being held this coming weekend.
Carolyn Smith, of Blacon Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder, is delighted to have the world-famous trophy at the event.

She said: "I think it's wonderful and we are very excited. The FA has been very supportive."

Photographers will be on hand
to take pictures of people with the trophy, which will be watched over by two security guards.

The festival, now in its fifth year, is being held in the grounds of Blacon High School and starts with a parade through Blacon from the Arches School, Saughall Road, at 10.30am.

Other attractions at the festival, which lasts from 11am-3pm, include fairground rides, craft stalls, a bouncy castle, a bicycle road show, eco corner face painting, pony rides, a football penalty shootout and refreshments.

Carolyn added: "The festival is a fun family day and is very much a community-based event.

"The central arena will have a programme of events including Blacon Schools Choir, Singing Hands, Chester Angels Cheer Leaders, D4J and our very own 'Blacon's Got Talent' competition.

"So come along to the Blacon Festival for a fun-filled day out – bring your family and friends with you."
