CHESTER student Emma Hill is celebrating even more exam success.
Emma, who is studying AS levels in biology, chemistry, physics, maths and further maths in the sixth form at Queen's Park High School, has just found out she was among the highest scoring candidates in this year's GCSE mathematics exam.

Emma sat the GCSE Mathematics exam this summer and out of 285,777 candidates across the country she was one of the top 10 scoring students.

Jerry Jarvis, Edexcel examining board's managing director, said: "This is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the hard work students put into preparing for their exams. We send our congratulations to Emma."

This achievement adds to the superb results Emma gained in the summer when she achieved eleven outstanding GCSE results – nine grades at A* and two at A.

This included achieving one of the top 10 marks in the country in her French GCSE.

She also achieved a superb grade A in AS level French qualification normally taken a year later.

Headteacher Andrew Firman added: "We are extremely proud of Emma. She worked very hard to achieve outstanding results. I am sure she will repeat this success at A-level in our sixth form."
