Folk rock singer Sarah Deboe, 25, with the support of drummer Neville Williams, has landed £1,000 worth of recording time in Parr Street studios in Liverpool, the largest UK recording studios outside of London.
Together they will lay down tracks and record demos which will be passed on to major recording labels and management with a view to a possible recording deal in the future.
Sarah, of Durban Avenue, Christleton and Neville, from Wirral, succeeded in the final of the Sound Clash Competition in Liverpool.
The pair, who met just four months ago through the Liverpool music scene, beat off 12 semi-finalists on their road to victory.
Both were among a wealth of unsigned artists asked to send in a demo of three of their best tracks to be played out in the studio, before being asked to perform in live heats for the sound clash competition.
Sarah, whose focus has been music for the last two-and-a-half years, has been singing since she was 16.
She began writing her own lyrics about two-and-a-half years ago and takes her influences from the all- time greats including the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan and Aretha Franklin, to name just a few.
However, Sarah, who is well known on the live music scene in Chester having appeared many times at Telford's Warehouse and Alexander's music venues, is determined to stay true to herself and her own developing
style.
Sarah, a regular on the music scene throughout the North West, is also known for her mastery of the guitar.
"I am happy with what I do," she said. "Yes I am influenced by the musical greats such as the Beatles, and many others, but I am not trying to be like anybody else, I have my own style, I am just me and I like it that way."
Looking to the road ahead Sarah adds: "It is all very exciting and things are happening so fast. It was an amazing feeling to have come through and to have succeeded in the competition.
"I was so happy, but performing makes me happy.
"When I am on stage I am smiling the whole time, it is what I love most. Now I just can't wait to get in to the studio and get going with my recording."
Along the way, Sarah has also undertaken vocal theory lessons at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts to help develop her musical talents.
Before her journey in to music, Sarah completed a HND in Business Studies at the University of Chester and has also studied European Studies.
Along with the free time in the recording studio, Sarah and Neville will also undergo a professional photoshoot with stylists before embarking on a media campaign to further raise their profile.
So where does Sarah take her inspiration for her song writing, for which her lyrics range from everyday situations to a hint of heartbreak with life experiences mixed in?
"I like to think of the lyrics as poetry. I don't sit down and think, I am going to write about any particular subjects."
