A Cheshire female teacher has been arrested following allegations of a sex offence against a teenage boy.
A spokesman for both Cheshire Constabulary and Cheshire County Council confirmed an investigation is under way into the claims made against the 38-year-old.

The Cheshire schoolteacher was arrested on November 20 at her home address for adult abuse of a position of trust – to cause or incite sexual activity with a child aged 13 to 17.

Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: "As part of an ongoing police investigation a 38-year-old female has been arrested under section 17 (1) of the Sexual Offences Act and is assisting police with their enquiries.

"She has been granted police bail until March 2009 pending further investigation by police and partner agencies."
