CHESTER City's season started in the worst possible manner with a 6-0 defeat at Dagenham and Redbridge.
The Blues went behind when Dominic Green scored from a free-kick, before Ben Strevens doubled the lead from the spot after Paul Benson was adjudged to have been fouled.
Sam Saunders scored from another free-kick, before adding a second to make it 4-0.
Benson made it 5-0 before susbstitute Mark Nwokeji completed the rout.
City boss Simon Davies will be looking for a big improvement when his side face Leeds in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.
