PAUL LINWOOD believes the first goal tomorrow will be so important.
The Chester City centre half is determined to help plug the gaps in defence in a bid to help his side secure their first points of the season at home to Barnet.

He said: "The first goal is so important tomorrow because Barnet and ourselves have really struggled so far this season.

"It hasn't been nice to watch or to play in the games so far, but we can't just bury our heads in the sand.

"We've worked hard on our shape and our organisational play and the gaffer has been letting us know where we have been going wrong.

"Barnet are there for the taking so we should be bright and bubbly.

"We still have a lot of work to do but we just have to stick with it.

"A few young players are in their first full season at the club
"It's been hard to see all the goals going in, but we just have to be stronger and stick with it.

"I don't care whether we win scruffy as long as we win."

Striker, Ryan Lowe, views tomorrow's home match against Barnet as an opportunity for City to kick-start their season.

He said: "Barnet have struggled so far this season like us and they'll be confident of coming here and getting a result. "They will have looked at our performances during the last few games and they'll be thinking they can turn us round and score goals.

"But we have to hold our heads high, be strong, and play to our strengths.

"The players have all had a rollicking from the gaffer and tomorrow's match now can't come soon enough.

"I'm certain that we'll come out with all guns blazing against Barnet."
