Don't get carried away says Chester's Simon Davies

CHESTER CITY boss Simon Davies is warning his side against complacency.
The Blues are full of confidence after their morale-boosting 5-1 home win last weekend against Barnet.
But Davies is attempting to keep his players' feet on the ground ahead of tomorrow's home match against an in-form Bury side at the Deva Stadium (3pm kick-off).
Davies believes a victory from tomorrow's match could kick-start the Blues' campaign and said: "I feel it's more important to beat Bury tomorrow than it was to beat Barnet last weekend.
"If we can get three points tomorrow it will kick-start our season with the games we have coming up.
"We're only four points off a play-off place and just seven points away from the top of the table, so if we can get four or six points from our next couple of games who knows where we'll be in a month's time?
"We won't go out against Bury with all guns blazing and leaving ourselves open, we'll play as we did last weekend and make sure we're still in the game after 25 minutes, and then move on from there."
Davies believes Bury have got a threat in their front line with ex-Wrexham striker Andy Morrell, and Andy Bishop expected to play key roles.
He said: "I think Bury have got a really good attacking force, but they have areas of weakness where I feel we can get at them.
"We all know their goalkeeper Wayne Brown. He's had a good career which has included a spell at Chester, and we played against him at Hereford last season.
"The lads know Wayne well, but that friendship aspect and the links go out of the window tomorrow."
Davies is looking for another disciplined defensive performance from his side and added: "I was very pleased with our performance against Barnet – everybody talks about our five goals, but it was a team performance.
"Defensively we were better as a team and we made better decisions, and we didn't allow Barnet into the game which was pleasing because we had left ourselves a mountain to climb previously before games really got up and running.
"Everybody was aware that we needed a victory, but I was pleased with the manner of that victory.
"The players were pleased that I gave them a day off this week, but there is a real togetherness within the squad and they showed they cared when they shelved plans to go paintballing after our defeat at Rotherham last week.
"I don't think we've been too far away in some of our games, particularly against Wycombe, in the second half against Rotherham, and last weekend against Barnet.
"It hasn't been all doom and gloom, but when we've been making errors we've been punished severely for most of them.
"I felt we defended really well as a team against Barnet and I was pleased about that because our keeper, John Danby, has been coming under fire for a couple of things in recent weeks.
"I was hoping for a clean sheet against Barnet but it wasn't to be, so that's something to work for this weekend.
"There are no excuses, but the teams we've been beaten by have all scored 10 points out of a possible 12 which tells me that they are all going to do okay this season."
Revealing that Chester had tried to sign players before Monday's transfer deadline, Davies added: "I am happy with what I have at the moment, but we did make an effort to get players in before the deadline and the final outcome was that there was no activity.
"The club owner and Bob Gray were trying to help me shift people out before we could bring people in, but it's not down to us, it's down to other clubs to let us know that they are interested in someone and they let us down at the last minute.
"There were a few frustrating scenarios, but I can assure everyone that it wasn't down to a lack of effort.
"I know we haven't brought anyone in, but if we can keep our 14 or 15 players fit we'll be okay and we'll do well."
