Chester City shared the spoils after a battling performance at Saltergate.
Club captain Paul Linwood put Chester 1-0 in front after he glanced home a 17th minute header from Ryan Lowe's free kick.

But Jamie Ward hammered home a 59th minute shot to earn the Spireites a point.
Chesterfield piled on the pressure towards the end of the match, but Linwood in the heart of the Chester defence produced a solid display to keep the home club at bay.

The draw leaves both teams in the bottom half of the table, each without a win in five games.
