CHESTER will kick-off their new campaign in the capital.
The Blues start the League Two season at Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday, August 9, hoping to avenge the 6-2 defeat at Victoria Road last February.

The setback contributed towards Bobby Williamson's dismissal later that month.

The East Londo
n club and Chester are rated as 50-1 outsiders by the bookmakers, so both clubs will be determined to make a point on the opening day.

Chester's opening home match at the Deva Stadium will be on the following Saturday against Wycombe Wanderers, before a trip to Rotherham United on August 23, and a home match against Barnet to conclude the first month.

The Blues come face to face with league newcomers Aldershot Town and Exeter City for the first time in November.

City travel to St James's Park to face Exeter on November 1, and then entertain Conference league champions Aldershot at the Deva Stadium on November 22.

Chester will be determined to pocket a number of precious points from the hectic festive schedule of fixtures after failing to secure a single point from last season's series of back-to-back Christmas and New Year fixtures.

The Blues entertain Accrington Stanley at the Deva Stadium on Boxing Day, before travelling to Cheshire derby rivals Macclesfield Town on December 28, and then hosting Luton Town at the Deva Stadium on January 3.

Chester are scheduled to face 7-1 league title favourites Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium, on October 25, before facing the Kent club in the reverse fixture at the Deva Stadium on January 31.

And City's two fixtures against Shrewsbury Town are scheduled to be played on September 20 at the Deva Stadium, and on January 10 at the New Meadow.

The Blues have a testing conclusion to their campaign, starting in early April with a trip to Notts County, followed by a home match against Macclesfield, then an away game two games later against Accrington Stanley.

Bournemouth, who were relegated from League One last term, visit the Deva Stadium on April 18, before the Blues make the trip to Aldershot, and then finish their season with a home match against Darlington.

Blues boss Simon Davies is hopeful of seeing midfielders Anthony Barry and Eddie Johnson signing for Chester this week.

Both players held talks with Blues owner Stephen Vaughan and Davies last week and the club are waiting to hear if the players have agreed personal terms after being offered two year deals.

Barry played regularly for Yeovil Town last season, and Chester-born Johnson was a regular in the Bradford City side last term before being released by the Bantams.CHESTER will kick-off their new campaign in the capital.
