Anthony Barry will boost Chester City

SIMON DAVIES believes midfielder Anthony Barry can play a key role tomorrow for the Blues.
The Chester City boss is backing the 22-year-old who signed from Yeovil Town in pre-season, to help his team pocket maximum points from their league clash at Chesterfield, (3pm ko).
Davies has been impressed with Barry's contribution and is hoping the former Everton trainee can make an impact in tomorrow's contest.
He said: "Anthony Barry came in for us on Tuesday night and we're not surprised with how well he played because he's a very good player.
"He's been unlucky this season because when he was in the team and we weren't doing so well, it wasn't all down to him.
"Then we went on that unbeaten run from Barnet onwards, and the 5-1 win against Barnet was the game he was left out of, so the team then picked itself.
"But he's now come back into the team and he's definitely in with a shout of a starting place tomorrow."
Davies revealed that midfielder Richie Partridge was being ruled out of tomorrow's match and that Damien Mozika was struggling to be fit in time for the Saltergate clash.
He said: "Richie is going to be out of contention because he's been struggling with a groin injury.
"Because of his lack of time in the first team he wanted to play against Morecambe on Tuesday night and he got his opportunity, but he was struggling and didn't come through the game successfully.
"Damien is also struggling with a groin problem which he picked up five or 10 minutes from the end of Tuesday night's match. I'm desperate for Damien to play, but I'd rather lose him for one game than six.
"The last thing I need is to drag him through the Chesterfield game and make the problem worse by having him out for five or six weeks."
Davies admitted he would be picking his assistant, Wayne Allison's brain, ahead of tomorrow's match, as Allison spent four years at Chesterfield before arriving at the Blues.
He said: "Wayne obviously knows Chesterfield very well, but they have made three or four new signings since he left.
"With Chesterfield still having the same manager we're hoping they still use the same setpieces and system of play.
"We already know a lot about the opposition and we always do our homework, but it's important to get the best out of ourselves.
"Chesterfield have got a good squad but they are not playing well at the moment and it's an opportunity for us to get some points on the board.
"We made a couple of errors on Tuesday night, but Kevin Roberts held his hand up and took some of the blame for the misjudgment, and John Danby made a rash decision to come out and help the Morecambe striker make his mind up for the goal instead of making him work hard to score.
"At times we don't make good decisions, but the positives definitely outweighed the negatives because I thought we were very good in the second half against Morecambe.
"I'm a great admirer of Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward because he's impressed me every time I've watched him.
"The use of a big striker like Jack Lester with a smaller guy like Jamie Ward around him seems to work well, but they've also got pre-season signing Darren Currie who can be very good or very poor – he's never a six or seven out of 10 player, more a three or a nine.
"He's the sort of player than can win a game or not effect a match at all. We just hope he has one of his negative games because on his day he can be one of the best players in the division."
